HERE BELOW ARE THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO OUR FOLLOWING PRODUCTS. HOWEVER, BEFORE WE BEGIN WE WOULD LIKE TO EXPLAIN AND HIGHLIGHT A COUPLE OF FACTS, COMMON TO ALL OF OUR LIQUID CHEMICAL PRODUCTS:

1. We must keep in mind that we are dealing with concentrated chemicals and, therefore, we must handle them with UTMOST care and respect, as is the case with all concentrated chemicals. Our chemicals are 100% water soluble, and when diluted as directed, they are safe to use. i.e. they do in no way affect the PH of the water, they have no poisonous or toxic effects, they do not contribute to bacteria growth and ecologically meet, and even exceed, all known EPA standards and requirements.

2. We must realize that, when working with our chemicals, two essential requirements must be met with each application, this in order to achieve best results:
A- Proper mixing of the chemicals and the materials being treated, this in order to reach a homogeneous mixture.
B- Proper compaction of the homogeneous mixtures of the materials used, this in order to close all pores, making the mixture virtually water proof.

THE ICON WATER PROOFING SYSTEM CONSISTS OF BOTH, A LIQUID AND A POWDER.
THE LIQUID COMES IN CONCENTRATED FORM THAT HAS TO BE DILUTED IN THE RATIO OF 1 PART ICON TO 250 PARTS OF WATER, AND A DILUTED FORM THAT CAN BE USED AS IS OR IT CAN BE FURTHER DILUTED IN THE RATIO OF 1 TO 1.
AND OUR CEMENTATIOUS POWDER THAT THE LIQUID IS ADDED TO AND MIXED UNTIL YOU HAVE A HOMOGENIOUS MIXTURE.

IT CAN BE COLORED WITH DIFFERENTLY COLORED OXIDES WHEN BEING MIXED, MAKING THE COLOR AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ICON MIXTURE i.e. ICON MORTAR.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT USES OF THE ICON MORTAR ?

The applications are countless and limitless. It can be used to waterproof floors, walls and ceilings of buildings. It can be used to manufacture water tanks, tank farms, special piping, seamless swimming pools, canals, roads, pavements, curb stones and virtually anything that requires durability and protection from water penetration.

HOW DO WE BEST PREPARE ICON?

Depending on the amounts of mortar required, you may mix it in either one of the following ways:
a) Small quantities for minor repair: mix the icon powder and diluted solution by hand in an appropriate container and apply directly to the area requiring water proofing.
b) For medium jobs mix icon diluted solution and icon powder in a portable cement mixer. Use mortar as required.
c) For major jobs use a cement central plant mixer and cement mixing tumbling trucks to deliver the mortar to the designated location.

NOTE: THE ICON LIQUID HAS A RETARDING EFFECT. THIS PROVIDES FOR A GREAT ADVANTAGE FOR DELIVERING THE MORTAR MIX WITHOUT THE MORTAR HARDENING DURING TRANSPORTATION

HOW DO WE BUILD SEEMLESS SWIMMING POOLS AND WITHOUT USING STEEL REBARS ?

A scientific breakthrough and industry first. In order to shape the form of your swimming pool, you may simply use plywood after excavating the soil. You will pour the mortar mix directly between the plywood and the soil, to which it will adhere instantly after its drying process, and it will follow your required shape. You may also decoratively colour your mortar mix thus saving significantly on ceramic tiles.
