THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION PERTAINING TO OUR FOLLOWING PRODUCTS. HOWEVER, BEFORE WE BEGIN WE MUST ESTABLISH THE FOLLOWING FACTS THAT ARE COMMON TO ALL OUR LIQUID CHEMICAL PRODUCTS:

1. We must keep in mind that we are dealing with concentrated chemicals and there for , we must handle them with care and respect, as is the case with all concentrated chemicals. Our chemical are 100% water soluble and when diluted as directed are safe to use .i.e. they do not affect the ph of the water, they have no poisonous effect , they do not contribute to bacteria growth and ecologically meet and exceed all EPA standards and requirements.

2. We must realize that , when working with our chemicals two essential requirements with each application must be achieved :
A- Proper mixing of the chemicals and the materials being treated to reach a homogenious mixture.
B- Proper compaction of the homogenious mixtures of the materials used in order to close all pores making the mixture virtually water proof.

THE ICON WATER PROOFING SYSTEM IS MADE UP OF A LIQUID AND A POWDER.
THE LIQUID COMES IN CONCENTRATED FORM THAT HAS TO BE DILUTED IN THE RATIO OF ONE PART ICON TO 250 PARTS WATER AND A DILUTED FORM THAT CAN BE USED AS IS OR IT CAN BE FURTHER DILUTED IN THE RATIO OF ONE TO ONE.
AND A CEMENTATIOUS POWDER THAT THE LIQUID IS ADDED TO AND MIXED UNTIL YOU HAVE A HOMOGENIOUS MIXTURE.
THE ICON MIXTURE WHEN PROPERLY MIXED AND APPLIED IS THE ONLY MIXTURE OF UTS TYPE THAT IS GUARANTEED TO BE 100% WATER PROOF AND CARRIES A LIMITED LIFETIME GUARANTEE.

IT CAN BE COLOURED WITH DIFFERENT OXIDES WHEN BEING MIXED MAKINGTHE COLOUR AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ICON MIXTURE .i.e. ICON MORTAR.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT USES OF THE ICON MORTAR ?

The application are limitless. It can be used to water proofs floors , walls, ceilings of buildings. It can be used to manufacture water tanks, special piping, seamless swimming pools, canals, roads, pavements, curbstone and virtually anything that requires durability and protection from water penetration.

HOW DO WE BEST PREPARE ICON?

Depending on the amounts of mortar required you can mix it one of the following ways:
a) Small quantities for minor repair: mix the icon powder and diluted solution by hand in an appropriate container and apply directly to the area requiring water proofing.
b) For medium jobs mix icon diluted solution and icon powder in a portable cement mixer. Use mortar as required.
c) For big jobs use a cement central plant mixer and cement mixing trucks to deliver the mortar the required location.

NOTE: THE ICON LIQUID IS A RETAREDER. THIS OFFERS A GREAT ADVANTAGE TO DELIVER THE MORTAR MIX WITHOUT THE MORTAR HARDENING.

HOW DO I BUILD A SEEMLESS SWIMMING POOL AND WITHOUT USING STEEL REBARS ?

You can make the form with swimming pool shape required using plywood, after excavation of the soil, and pour the mortar mix directly between the plywood and the soil.
